Joys of pintly perambulations

A fellow Joycean from Germany whom I met on the Bloomsday pub crawl in Dublin said this amidst the noisy conversational clatters at Davy Byrnes.

For most writers , writing is based on how it is read by the reader, But for Joyce, writing is like…writing in itself. Its as if Its never meant to be read. That’s the Joyceness of it all.

I think very few statements spawned by Joycean Literature is as precise as that.
