Dr Stagelove…
It is quite late and I am mildly tipsy, but just wanted to record how I feel about this. A conversation brought forth how much I miss being on the stage. No matter how thoroughly you have practiced or how much ever you have done it before, the moment you enter the stage-as soon as you feel the dazzle of lights on you and you make a quick glance to note how the audience looks (even if doesn’t matter), you feel a surge of adrenaline in your veins and within a few minutes, you are in a totally different world, away, on your own. Ah great feeling, I tell you.
You are not you anymore but someone else. And even though after the play, you smile, laugh, have photos taken, socialise, its only late in the night when you lay in your bed, with the lights turned off you realise you have not yet returned to your usual self.
