Turn Turn Turner….
Hmm. I couldn’t get to see Mike Nelson’s work. I was in no position to bear a testing strife of a long anticipation. Because of following two reasons- One I was totally banjaxed and hung over from the late night partying and two because there was an anacondeseque queue leading to his work. So sorry for now, and if I happen to return from Asia before the results are out, I can put down my impressions. Nathan Coley was linear. But okay. Wallinger was the most interesting in terms of using art to express ideas. But I would like Zarina to win. Her photographs and film have a sense of wistful ache, but experienced only partially, by which I mean her photographs doesn’t engage you completely but seem to proclaim ‘you can only witness from there, you cant feel me’. A marriage of the Hopper painting and the David Lean long shot. But more importantly, I want her to win because , one she is hot, two she reminds me of someone I once dated.
